Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RDPIY2UAI3J45 We love the O-Ball Rattle. We first saw it during a development class we took at a local center. We had to buy one because my son wouldn’t let it go. At the time, he was about 8 weeks – and it was the first toy he ever played with. This rattle is great for making noise, is easy to grab onto, and in its ball shape, also rolls like a ball! It’s a ball AND a rattle and a grip toy for babies to learn to grab. It also makes a great adult stress toy. We also hook it to the playmat.

My 8 m/o twins did not get too excited about this toy. However, I think that it’s a nice addition to our toy box and hopefully they will grow to love playing with it. Perhaps the ball will be more fun when they start crawling and can follow it as it rolls away. I like that this toy has no PVC, Latex, Phthalates, or BPA. It confirms to safety standards ASTM F963-03. Made by Rhino Toys, Inc., manufactured in China.
Update: it did become one of the toys to fight for – it rattles, it rolls, is easy to grab, and even can jump if thrown against the floor. Not sure why there is a warning about small parts – the little rattling balls seem to be safely encased in the transparent plastic windows.

You can read about how the Oball is a great developmental toy elsewhere. A discussion of how it appeals to a broad age range is also prolific.
I thought I should mention how the rattles do not diminish from the orginal function or fun of the toy. They allow this toy to serve as an impromtu rythum instrument. It is perfect for the very young, who are the world over and for time immemorial it would seem, irresistably attracted to rattles. A perfect toy for little experimenting hands, the rattles are an added dimension of auditory and visual fun. Enjoy!

I got this at my baby shower and put it away. I came across it when my son was about 4 months old and gave it to him. He LOVES it! The only problem with it is the cat loves it too, and they frequently “fight” over it! She manages to find it in his toys during the night and bats it around the house all night long lol. Great toy for young babies too because they can grab onto it very easily. He still loves it at 8 months.

My daughter is 7 months old. She is not normally amused by this ball but it works better in the car seat since she can stick her finger though it and doesn’t lose it from her grip.
Normally she is not interested in it much .. she prefers banging on the good old fashioned cardboard box over most of her toys.
